Dr Ian Welch has been with OAC since 2009 and comes to London via Ottawa. He spent the early years of his veterinary career as a mixed animal practitioner but gradually moved to companion animal medicine and surgery. Ian is with us at OAC part-time covering occasional appointment shifts but primarily as a consulting surgeon. Ian works full-time at the University of Western Ontario where he is an Assistant Director of Veterinary Services. Ian is passionate about teaching, surgery (the more challenging the better), and advanced diagnostics especially imaging such as radiology, ultrasound, and CT, as well as pathology and histology. When not working at OAC or Western, Ian is at home rooting for the Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, and relaxing with his kids Cody, Kassi, Cailee, and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Finnegan.
