Veterinarian and Owner, DVM
Dr. Tyrrel de Langley graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1983. While training he worked at a variety of large and small animal clinics, including a farm practice, a cat only hospital, a dog breeder referral veterinary service and one of the most interesting – the Metro Toronto Zoo. His first jobs were day shifts at a very busy 5 doctor practice in Brampton and night shifts at the Toronto and Mississauga Emergency Clinics. Eventually with the help of 3 other veterinary partners he opened Toronto’s first 24 hours clinic. Dr. de Langley purchased Oakridge Animal Clinic in 1988, and initially was the only veterinarian here. After about 5 years at Oakridge Dr. de Langley began at the University of Western Ontario, Robarts Lawson Health Research, and London Health Sciences as a consultant. He enjoys bring involved in leading edge science, but his passion is seeing people and their ‘kids’. He has had several friends over the years including some that you may have met but have since passed on; Jake, the world’s best lab – and the poster dog for our logo, Andy a rescue greyhound and Pogo the 3 legged cat. He is pictured here with Austin, a rescue Labrador Retriever added to the family in October 2010.
